Did you know that only 8% of people succeed in achieving their New Year’s resolutions?? That doesn’t give a person much incentive to try and yet we do. Every year we determine to lose the weight, pay off credit card debt and do something outrageous.
Then life sets in and we find ourselves “going through the motions” or “getting through each day”. I know I’ve been there and then I decided it was time for change.

Let me first ask you, are you living each day the way you want to living it? …spending time with those you want to most? …contributing to experiences closest to your heart? …going to places you crave?
Begin to dream a little and then maybe a lot. If time and money weren’t an obstacle, what would you be doing one year from now?
Now that you know where you’re going, let’s figure out where you are right now. So, take a deep breath. (Don’t skip this part.) Next… gather all your credit card balances, APR’s and payments; loans (auto, student, mortgage, personal). Compile and list all your investments, savings, bank account balances. Finally, take a look around. Determine what improvements want to make, what will you sell, and what will you donate or throw out.
Now, take another deep breath.. if you’re anything like me this task was a bit scary, overwhelming and exhilarating all at the same time. It’ll be OK no matter what happens, I promise.
For this week… that’s all I want you to do – begin again to dream and take stock of where your finances are right now.

How do we get those pesky new year’s resolutions to stick?? Maybe you’re part of the few that didn’t make them or you made the non-resolution resolution. Perhaps by the time you’re reading this, you’ve already broken the ones you made. No matter where you are, what about this idea – making 2016 about “a word”? One simple, single word. Don’t worry, you get to the pick the word and what’s even better, there’s no judgement.. there’s no right or wrong… good, better or best option.
